How Design Code collects, uses and protects information submitted through this site, and the terms governing its use. This is a working draft prepared against the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data — reviewed internally, not yet signed off by external legal counsel.

Design Code ("we", "us", "our") is a turnkey interior fit-out studio based in Dubai, UAE. This policy explains how we handle personal data submitted through designcode.ae, in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data ("the PDPL").
We collect personal data only when you submit it directly, through the enquiry form on our Contact page. The fields collected are: name, company (optional), email address, phone/WhatsApp number, project sector, approximate budget, approximate square footage, project timeline, and any project details you choose to describe.
We do not currently use cookies, analytics, or any third-party tracking scripts on this site. If that changes in future, this policy will be updated first and a consent mechanism added where required.
We process this data on the basis of your consent, given by voluntarily submitting the form, and — once a project discussion begins — on the basis that processing is necessary to take steps towards a contract at your request. We use it to:
We do not use submitted data for unrelated marketing without separately asking you first, and you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us (see Section 7).
Form submissions are received and stored via Netlify Forms, the form-handling service built into our website host, Netlify, Inc. Netlify acts as a data processor on our behalf and may store submitted data on infrastructure located outside the UAE. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third party, except where required by UAE law or a valid legal request from a competent authority.
Because this involves a transfer of personal data outside the UAE, it is subject to the PDPL's rules on international data transfers. We rely on your consent to the form submission, and on Netlify's own data processing and security commitments, as the basis for this transfer. If you would like more detail on Netlify's data handling, we're happy to provide it on request.
We retain enquiry data for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry and, if a project proceeds, for the duration of that engagement plus a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. Enquiries that don't convert to a project are retained for no longer than 24 months from submission, after which they are deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Under the PDPL, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data; restrict or object to our processing of it; and request a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 8 — we will respond within the timeframe required by law.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data submitted to us, including relying on Netlify's infrastructure security for form storage and restricting internal access to enquiry data to staff who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
This website is provided for the purpose of informing prospective clients about our services and enabling project enquiries. Content, images and project descriptions are for illustrative purposes; specific project imagery is added only once a client has approved publication.
Any figures, timelines or quotations referenced on this site (including the indicative statistics on our homepage) are general and non-binding. A formal quotation is only valid once issued in writing directly to you following a project consultation, and is subject to site survey, material availability, and confirmed scope.
Design concepts, drawings, and project imagery on this site remain the intellectual property of Design Code, or are used with the relevant rights-holder's permission, unless otherwise agreed in a signed project contract.
While we take care to keep this site accurate, we make no warranty that its content is complete or error-free, and we are not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of website content rather than a formal written proposal. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be excluded under UAE law.
This policy and these terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising from your use of this site will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Dubai, UAE.
We may update this policy from time to time as our services, tools, or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
